City Peeps Disclosures & Policies

Payments for My Service:
I require a small, non-refundable deposit of $25 to hold a spot for your eggs on my calendar.
Once your babies hatch, I will let you know the remainder of the fee, as my fee is per hatched chick. The deposit you already paid is applied towards your bills.
At this time, I accept Cash, Venmo (family and friends), PayPal* (goods and services) as well as Visa,* Mastercard,* American Express* & Discover.*
*A 3% fee for PayPal (goods and services) and 3.5% fee for credit cards will be applied to cover the processing fee.
Available Sexed Chicks Policies:
From time to time, I have sexed chicks available. If you are interested in a chick but are not able to pick it up within a couple days, I will ask for payment to reserve your chick for you. After I contact you for payment, I will need the payment within 24 hours or the chick will be offered to the next in line.
Marek’s Vaccination: Available sexed chicks are not vaccinated for Marek’s Disease unless specified. I do however vaccinate your chicks at no charge if you are using my hatching/vent sexing services.
Mis-Sexed Policy: In the rare occasion that you end up with a mis-sexed chick that you bought from my “Available Sexed Chicks” section, I will give you the choice of a 100% refund with the below terms or you can choose another pullet if I have any available.
-Please bring any sexing errors to my attention as soon as you are confidently aware. A brief, live video via FaceTime or Zoom may be required.
-Due to biosecurity risks, I am unable to take a mis-sexed chick back.
-I reserve the right to postpone and revisit a mis-sexed claim if I feel it is too soon to clearly tell the sex of the chicken.
-I reserve the right to deny a mis-sexed claim that I suspect it is fraudulent in nature.
Available Chicks Missed Pickup Policy: Regarding no-shows, if your appointment to pick up your chick(s) comes and goes without my hearing from you, I will contact you immediately. If was unable to reach you, I will attempt to reach you again the next morning. If 24 hours has past from your appointment’s day & time, your chick(s) will be forfeited, no refund will be issued (if you paid already) and the chick(s) will be sold to the next in line. Future buisness agreements will be made or declined at my discretion.
Rescheduling Your Pickup Date and Time:
If you need to reschedule your pickup date and/or time, I request 48 hours notice.
I understand that sometimes plans change due to unforeseen circumstances or emergencies. Let me know as soon as possible and we will figure something out.
Please message me via the website, text or phone call if you need to reschedule your pickup date and/or time.
If your pickup date and time is less than 48 hours away, I will do my best to accommodate you.
If changing your pickup date and time puts you into a second week of brooding, additional brooding will be charged at $1 per chick per day.
Rooster Refund Policy (chicks I hatched from your eggs)
Vent sexing is tricky even for those of us who are trained. It is known that 1 out of every 10 chicks will present without a male eminence (bump) but actually be male.
If you end up with more than 10% of your chicks sexed in error (ie. 2 or more chicks sexed incorrectly out of 12), I will honor a refund for my services applying to the chicks that were incorrectly sexed.
Chicks That Have Left My Care:
Due to circumstances and variables I cannot control, once a chick leaves my care, I cannot hold liability for their health or mortality. Outside of my “Rooster Refund”, it is understood, agreed upon and considered reasonable, that there are no warranties, expressed or implied, with respect to the mortality or morbidity of a chick.
My liability, for any reason whatsoever, shall be limited to the amount paid for the goods or services claimed to be defective, and in no event shall City Peeps be held liable for any consequential or incidental damage.
By acceptance of the chicks upon pickup, the customer acknowledges that the limitations and disclaimers herein, set forth, are conditions of the agreement.
Furthermore, by acceptance of the chicks upon pickup, the customer agrees that this constitutes the entire agreement between the parties regarding warranty or other liabilities and the remedy therefore.
Missed Local Pickup Policy:
If your pickup date and time goes by without you showing up or contacting me, I will contact you immediately. If I don’t hear from you that day, I will attempt again first thing the next morning to contact you. If I still have not heard from you within 24 hours of your pickup date and time, I will continue to brood your chicks until the week of brooding is up or the two weeks are up if you paid for an extra week of brooding. I will attempt to reach you a third time and if I still have not heard from you, your chicks and the service I provided will be forfeited. No refund will be provided, and the chicks will be re-homed.
Future buisness agreements will be made or declined at my discretion.
Visits:
Visits to City Peeps are reserved for drop off and pick appointments up of eggs and chicks only. Biosecurity guidelines prevent me from allowing visitors inside. All pickup and drop offs will be made at the bottom of the driveway at the road or in the garage if it is raining. City Peeps operates out of my home, you will be provided my address when making arrangements to drop off eggs or pickup chicks.

Links to CityPeeps.net should be clear and not misleading. An appropriate text link should always be used : “City Peeps.net”.
